Taro and Chie Yoshida live on the fifth floor of an apartment complex with no elevator. 76-year-old Taro, confined to a wheelchair, has a walking disability. 72-year-old Chie suffers from dementia. They struggle with the challenges of elderly care-giving in a harsh world that is falling apart. With no means of escape and no one to help them, they are left to fend for themselves.
